TaxTim is a digital service that helps you understand and complete your tax return. You answer simple, plain language questions online, and the digital tax assistant will then fill out your tax return. You get a fast and efficient tax return, which can help avoid penalties and maximise your chances of getting a tax refund from SARS. TaxTim can submit your return directly to SARS.
No points need to be redeemed for these vouchers, but you will need to pay TaxTim for their service at the discounted rate. Rewards members will receive discounts as follows:

How do you access the benefit?

You will be issued with a TaxTim Instant Reward. You must then claim the TaxTim Instant Reward and once claimed, the discount code will be sent to you via your preferred method of communication or in your Reward inbox.

You can use the discount code on the TaxTim website when paying for your preferred TaxTim package as follows:
Register at www.taxtim.com to create your profile. During setup of your tax return, select that you are a member of Old Mutual Rewards. You will be prompted to enter your TaxTim voucher, as provided by Old Mutual Rewards. To get your voucher, you must claim the TaxTim voucher in your voucher wallet and once claimed, the TaxTim voucher will be sent to you via your preferred method of communication. TaxTim will help you select the correct package for your needs. There may be additional costs incurred for completing and submitting your tax return.

Take Me Home Service

The Take Me Home service is a pre-arranged designated driver service that ensures that you always arrive home safely after a night out, with the added convenience of having your vehicle safely driven home for you by a reliable driver. This service is free if within the following main metropolitan areas: Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth and George and provided the trip does not exceed 50 km from the city centre.

How do you qualify?

You need to be on Tier 5 when you access the Take Me Home service. You may use the service for up to 3 (three) trips in a calendar year, i.e. from 1 January to 31 December.

How do you access the benefit?

Qualifying members can call 0860 33 77 72. You will be directed to a consultant who will verify your Old Mutual Rewards member details (membership number or ID number) and then assist you.

It is recommended that a booking is made at least 48 hours in advance for peak times (Thursday evening to Sunday morning and public holidays). For off-peak bookings, a minimum of 60 minutes is required.

Legal Assistance

Legal Assistance gives you telephonic access to a legal helpline. Your questions will be directed to a qualified attorney who will provide you with legal advice, send you suggested legal documents and, if necessary, refer you to an attorney for a free 30-minute face-to-face consultation, during which the attorney may draft a letter that is pertinent to your matter or make one phone call on your behalf. The attorney will inform you if the consultation will go overtime, which will be at your own expense.

You need to be on at least Tier 2 when you access the Legal Assistance benefit.

Emergency Medical Support

A medical emergency is an injury or illness that threatens human life and needs immediate medical attention to try and save a life. This benefit gives you access to a qualified medical operator who will provide advise until a medical team arrives. If required, an emergency medical team will be sent to the scene by road or by air and will perform advanced lifesaving resuscitation, stabilise the affected person, and if necessary, transport the affected person to the closest hospital or medical facility.

How do you qualify?

You need to be on at least Tier 2 when you access Emergency Medical Services benefit. Your spouse/partner and dependent children can also access the benefit.

How do you access the benefit?

Qualifying members can call 0860 33 77 72, you will be directed to a consultant who will verify your Old Mutual Rewards member details (membership number or number) and then assist you. The call centre is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Gym Rebate

How do you qualify?

  • Only the main member qualifies.
  • Maintain a minimum Tier status over any 3-month cycle:
    • You need to maintain a minimum tier 4 status over 3 months for a 50% rebate.
    • You need to maintain a minimum tier 5 status over 3 months for a 100% rebate.
  • You must earn a minimum of 1000 points per month for each of the 3 months.
  • You need to attend the gym at least ten times a month for three consecutive months.
  • Only one gym visit per day will count.
  • Your rebate percentage will be based on your lowest Tier level achieved over the three month cycle.
  • For Virgin Active the rebate applies to monthly club membership fees only, up to a monthly fee of R650 (the Club rate).
  • For Zone Fitness the rebate applies to super club monthly membership fees only, up to a monthly fee of R650 (the Club rate).
    • In addition, members who wish to Join Zone Fitness for the first time, qualify for a special discounted Superclub membership rate on a 12-month contract at R167 per month.
    • Note that only monthly membership fees are rebated and not any Join fees or Card fees.

How do you access the benefit?

  • You must register for the benefit by contacting the Old Mutual Rewards Gym benefit call centre who will verify that you are a valid Old Mutual Rewards member.
  • Qualifying members can call 0860 700 800. You will be directed to a consultant who will verify your Old Mutual Rewards member details (membership number or ID number) and then assist you.
  • For Virgin ActiveYou will be required to pay the R750 once off activation fee within 30-days from the date of registration.
  • For Zone FitnessYou will be required to pay the R350 once off activation fee within 30-days from the date of registration.
  • Your gym benefit will become effective on the 1st of the month following your registration (i.e. if you register on the 15th of a month, your benefit will become effective on the 1st of the following month).
  • If you do not pay the activation fee within the 30-days following registration, your gym benefit will not be activated and you will need to start the registration process again.
  • Once your Gym Rebate benefit is active, the three month rebate claim cycle commences.

How to claim your rebate?

  • At the end of the three-month cycle, you need to contact the Old Mutual Rewards Gym Benefit call centre. You will need to provide:
    • A copy of your ID.
    • Proof of monthly Gym subscription amount.
    • Access history pertaining to the three -month cycle
      • For Virgin Active you can obtain this by visiting the “my club section” on the website: www.myvirginactive.co.za
      • For Zone Fitness this can be obtained by e-mailing omrewards@ZoneFitness.co.za
    • Your banking details.
    • You may claim for the rebate every three months, but the claim must be submitted within 30 days after the three month cycle.
    • You will receive your rebate within seven to 14 working days.
